Eugéne’s interest in drawing, creating, inventing, designing and building things started from a very young age and throughout his life he has been involved in various forms of artistic expression in a variety of mediums. Pen and ink drawing, oil pastels, air brushing and painting, sign writing, paving designing and photography are just some of the interests he has explored over the years and which have culminated in his passion for bringing steel to life with his designs.

Bev studied art at the Durban School of Art and she is Eugéne’s sounding board, fiercest critic and greatest fan.

EUGÉNE SAYS “My desire to create beautiful artworks from metal started back in the 70’s but only really manifested in 2013 when I was able to semi-retire. The concept of the wall hooks came about because we needed a key holder for our new home. We weren’t able to find one that suited our needs so I designed and made the first one. Once I had made the jigs and acquired other necessary equipment it was easy to produce hooks in quantity and they became handy gifts for friends and family. The response was extremely encouraging and so the idea of designing and manufacturing different types of hooks for different purposes was born.”
